The Birmingham office hosted a silent auction to raise money for the Children’s of Alabama Sugar Plum Shop, a program for in-patients and their families who spend the holidays at the hospital. Employees brought items in for the auction which raised almost $500.
Children’s of Alabama makes sure the magic of the season finds every patient and family who must spend the holidays there. Parents and caregivers have the opportunity to “shop” (at no cost to them) for their patient and his or her siblings at the Sugar Plum Shop, a toy store set up right in the hospital. A representative of Children’s of Alabama advised our Avenu staff that the donation provided was most definitely needed to purchase items for age groups that are sometimes overlooked.
The Birmingham office hopes to make this an annual fundraiser, with each year increasing in donations!
In addition to the silent auction, the Birmingham office hosted a Polar Express Day, ornament exchange, Ugly Sweater Day and coloring activities for employees’ younger family members.
