It was with great pleasure that Avenu recently honored Plymouth County, MA, as our Inaugural Book One Club member. The Book One Club was launched by Avenu to honor local governments who have gone to great lengths to digitize back to their very first record, also known as “book one.”
Digitizing back to sovereignty is a tremendous accomplishment, especially when you are one of the oldest and most historic jurisdictions in our country which involves 400 years of records. John R. Buckley, Jr., Register of Deeds for Plymouth County partnered with Avenu 10 years ago to begin the project in preparation for Plymouth’s 400-year anniversary in 2020. Although the digitization project was completed on-time, the celebration of being the Inaugural Book One Club member was delayed with the pandemic.
Ann Kirkbride, VP of Records Management, and Lou Schiavone, President, attended the event and presented the certificated and a framed leather-bound “Book One Club” book to John Buckley. Two Plymouth County Commissioners were in attendance along with the Registry of Deeds staff. The presentation was well received and greatly appreciated by our client.
